Discipline in Motion

For the AW26 season, MCM invited ZOMA to develop a series of key looks that translate the spirit of Taekwondo into contemporary fashion. Presented during Milan Fashion Week at Casa degli Artisti, the project explored the intersection of martial discipline and modern luxury.

Drawing from the visual language of Taekwondo uniforms, belts and protective gear, the collection reinterprets traditional elements through a fashion-forward lens. Structured silhouettes, wrapped constructions and rhythmic paneling echo the tension between strength and control that defines martial arts.

Rather than referencing sport literally, the designs focus on the philosophy behind the practice — simplicity, precision and respect. Each garment becomes a sculptural study of movement: belts transform into architectural details, quilting recalls protective armor, and layered constructions suggest the dynamic gestures of combat.

The result is a series of six conceptual looks that blur the line between garment and performance. More than clothing, they function as visual statements — exploring how discipline can be translated into form, and how heritage can be reimagined through contemporary design.
